i don't usually do two entries in a day.
but i need to rant.
Let us name the individual Bubble Tea (only because i am craving for some).
Bubble Tea left a comment on my fb, because I had left a comment on someone else's fb about this Matter.
Bubble Tea had an issue with this Matter, and this Matter has something to do with my entertainment choices.
I deleted Bubble Tea's comment, but I immediately texted Bubble Tea.
I asked if Bubble Tea took offence, and if Bubble Tea did, we would not have this Matter as our entertainment choice.
Bubble Tea was like "You mean you don't know why..."
I texted back, and said no, I did not know why. "Tell me please"
"Ask your dad about it", was the response.
And then Bubble Tea texted again, "I think you're trying to smoke me. But it doesn't matter. God knows the heart"
What a response! How rude can someone get? I believe I was being very cordial and polite, but seriously, what a response!
I understand if you have got convictions, and if my actions were offensive to you, I would gladly not do it anymore, because it is what we have been learning about in church. Just explain to me about your convictions, and I will try to understand where you're coming from.
This Matter is not stated clearly in the Bible as a "do not". It is a grey matter, only because back then, this Matter did not exist for the Jews as an entertainment choice. Therefore, Paul urges us to "Beware, lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak" and to "please his neighbour for his good, leading to edification" when there are grey areas. I am not saying that Bubble Tea is weak. But these verses are for me to learn from.
So is being in the arcade better than this Matter? Or playing facebook games? Or other computer games? Or talking about games during fellowship? All these are what Bubble Tea does. But I don't believe anyone has spoken to Bubble Tea about it. Those are Bubble Tea's entertainment choices.
I think Bubble Tea just has a thing against my parents, and are using us (their kids) to discredit them. The devil is so obviously using Bubble Tea to cause discord. I will not get angry and bitter with Bubble Tea, because it is so not worth breaking up the church over such a minute issue.
We just have to take it with a little salt.
